Medyartiz (2011-present)

Founded in 2011, Medyartiz is an artist duo composed of Gizem Karakas and Etem Sahin. Their practice centers on interactive performance, engaging processes of friendship, inspiration, celebration, dedication, and gift-giving as both methodology and material. Rooted in a dialogue-based approach, their work unfolds through intimate and expansive conversations—beginning between themselves and extending to invited artists, institutional collaborators, and audiences. Medyartiz’s practice is driven by a commitment to fostering connectivity and facilitating encounters across diverse publics, positioning relationships at the heart of their research.
